Privacy Policy — Medication Reminder

2. Health data — handled with extra care

Medication Reminder processes information that can describe a person's health (the names of medications you take, their doses, when you take them). This data is sensitive. We handle it with the following principles:

• Health data never leaves your device. We have no server that can read it.
• No advertising profile is ever built from health data — AdMob receives nothing about your medications.
• Health data is not sold or shared with any third party.
• You can delete every medication and dose log at any time from inside the app.

3. What information the app processes

3.1 Information you create

• Medication entries (name, dose strength, form, optional notes)
• Dose schedules (times of day, weekly pattern, end date)
• Dose completion log (taken / skipped / snoozed, timestamp)
• Refill thresholds and current quantity
• Reminder alarm preferences (sound, vibration, snooze duration)

All of this is stored in the app's private Room database + DataStore on your device. Never uploaded.

• Your name, email, phone number, date of birth or address
• Contacts, photos, SMS, call logs
• Precise location
• No analytics SDKs of any kind

5. How permissions are used

5.1 Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

To deliver dose reminders at your chosen times. Scheduled locally via AlarmManager.

5.2 Boot Completed

To re-arm dose reminders after a phone restart so you don't miss a dose.

5.3 Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM)

So reminders fire at the exact dose time even if the device is in Doze mode. Critical for medication adherence, which is why we request the permission.

5.4 Vibrate

To accompany the alarm tone when a dose is due.

5.5 Internet

Only AdMob and Play Billing use the network. The app's own logic is fully offline.

6. Where data lives

• In the app's private storage on your device.
• Optionally in Android Auto Backup (encrypted, restored only to your devices).

7. Subscription and ads

30-day Pro trial. After: yearly subscription via Google Play, or free tier with optional ad-extends (20 days each, max 3/day). The Pro tier removes ads entirely; if avoiding any AdMob disclosure is important to you, subscribing is the cleanest path.

8. Children's privacy

Not directed at children under 13. If a parent or guardian uses the app to manage a child's medications, the data is theirs to manage and delete.

9. Your rights

• Access / portability: view dose history in-app.
• Correction: edit medications / schedules.
• Deletion: delete medications in-app, or clear app data in Android Settings (wipes everything).
• Withdraw ad consent: subscribe (removes ads entirely), or reset Advertising ID.

10. Medical disclaimer

Medication Reminder is a reminder tool, not a medical service. It does not diagnose, prescribe or advise on treatment. Follow your doctor's and pharmacist's instructions for any medication you take.

11. Data retention & security

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. Stored in Android's app-private sandbox, encrypted at rest on modern Android.

12. Changes to this policy

Updated whenever a new feature changes the data picture.
