Privacy Policy — BubbleBay

1. Who we are

2. What information the app processes

2.1 Information you create

• Per-bubble settings (enabled, position, size, transparency, accent colour, lock)
• Quick notes you type
• Calculator history (in-memory only)
• Timer label + duration for each running timer
• Shortcut actions you define (label + payload — app package, phone number, or URL)

2.2 Clipboard history (Clipboard bubble)

When the Clipboard bubble is enabled, BubbleBay listens for changes to the system primary clipboard via Android's ClipboardManager.OnPrimaryClipChangedListener. Each captured entry is stored in BubbleBay's private DataStore on your device. We never upload clipboard content. You can:

• Delete entries by long-pressing them in the panel.
• Clear all history from BubbleBay settings.
• Turn off the Clipboard bubble entirely to stop the listener.

Android privacy notice. Android 12+ shows a brief "BubbleBay accessed your clipboard" snackbar each time we re-copy an entry back. This is a system-level disclosure that we cannot suppress and would not want to.

• Names, email, phone numbers (unless YOU type them into a shortcut action)
• SMS or call logs
• Photos or files outside your shortcut definitions
• Precise location
• No analytics SDKs

4. How permissions are used

4.1 System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

To draw bubbles and their expanded panels on top of other apps.

4.2 Foreground Service (special use)

To keep the bubbles alive across app switches and reboots.

4.3 WRITE_SETTINGS (Brightness bubble)

To set system screen brightness when you drag the Brightness bubble's slider. Required by Android to be granted from a system page. Not used by any other bubble.

4.4 Camera Flash feature (Brightness bubble — torch)

The Brightness panel exposes a torch toggle using CameraManager.setTorchMode. No camera-runtime permission is needed and we never access camera frames.

4.5 READ_CONTACTS (optional — Shortcut bubble)

Only requested if you build a "Dial contact" shortcut and tap the contact picker. We never read your contacts proactively or store them in BubbleBay; the Android contact picker passes only the number you selected.

4.6 Notifications, Boot, Exact Alarms, Vibrate

Persistent foreground notification, re-launch after reboot, accurate timer fires, optional haptic feedback.

4.7 Battery Optimisation

Optional — granted from a system page so Android doesn't pause the floating bubbles.

4.8 Internet

Only AdMob and Play Billing use the network.

5. Where data lives

• All bubble settings, notes, shortcuts, clipboard history and timers in the app's private DataStore on your device.
• Optionally in Android Auto Backup.

6. Subscription and ads

30-day Pro trial. Free tier: up to 3 active bubbles. Pro: all 7 bubbles + unlimited clipboard / shortcuts / timers. Subscription via Google Play; optional ad-extends (20 days each, max 3/day).

7. Children's privacy

Not directed at children under 13.

8. Your rights

• Access: all your data is visible in the app.
• Deletion: delete entries in-app, clear clipboard history from settings, or clear app data in Android Settings.
• Withdraw ad consent: subscribe, or reset Advertising ID.

9. Data retention & security

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. Stored in Android's app-private sandbox, encrypted at rest on modern Android.

10. Changes to this policy

Updated whenever a new bubble or feature changes the data picture.
